Does Shopify have a store locator?

Published ·
At a glance
Short answer
No store locator page in the Shopify docs we read; Dawn, Horizon-family and some paid themes can show pickup per product, and apps add a store map.
Pickup availability
Dawn, the Horizon family and multiple paid themes; one store shown, others via Check availability at other stores
Physical store switch
Shop and AI agents per the Help Center; on by default per a January 28, 2026 changelog
Stockists and dealers
Not admin locations; a store locator app can list them

What does Shopify show shoppers instead of a locator?

None of the Help Center, shopify.dev or changelog pages we read describes a store locator page — one listing every store or searching by ZIP. Some themes instead show a pickup availability section on product pages: availability and the estimated pickup time.

It appears only when:

  • your theme supports it (Dawn, the Horizon family, multiple paid themes);
  • pickup in store is active at a location that fulfills online orders;
  • the product is stocked there, with Physical product on.

With several pickup locations it shows one store; Check availability at other stores opens the product's availability at all your pickup locations. If your theme lacks the section, the Help Center says you can hire a Shopify Partner. Setup is in our local delivery and pickup guide.

Is the physical store switch a store locator?

Not by the pages we read. The Help Center says listing a location as a physical store lets customers “find the store through the Shop sales channel and through AI agents”, and it doesn't need Shopify POS. More on Shop: our Shop app guide.

The switch is the location's Physical storefront row; in our development store on October 21, 2026, it read “Show this physical store's location in the Shop app and on your online store”, but no page we read says it adds a locator page to your storefront.

A changelog of January 28, 2026 says the switch is enabled by default, so turn it off on pop-ups, test locations and warehouses, and check location names, since Shop shows the admin name.

Physical storefront is the last row of Location details; it is off on our test location, so check yours.

When do you need a store locator app?

For retailers that carry your products, or one map of every store, compare listings in the Store locator category.

Built-in is enough
  • Your own locations, with pickup shown on product pages
  • Shoppers finding your store through Shop
Install a locator app
  • Retailers, dealers or stockists outside your locations: Stockist, from $10 a month for up to 100 locations
  • One page mapping every store: Mapular, free for up to 5 stores; The Shop Maps, free, says it pulls in Shopify Locations (untested)
App plans as listed on the Shopify App Store, October 21, 2026.
