Advertising Policy
How this site earns money, what counts as advertising here, and the rules that keep commercial relationships separate from what we publish.

How this site makes money
Shopify Ecom Blog is supported primarily through affiliate commissions from Shopify. When a reader follows a link from an article on this site to Shopify and starts a paid plan, Shopify may pay us a referral commission as part of its official partner program. The price you pay Shopify is exactly the same — there is no markup, no surcharge, and no extra step for you.
We are an official Shopify Partner. We are not employed by Shopify and we do not receive content briefs, talking points, or editorial approval from them.
What is and isn't an affiliate link
- Affiliate links on this site point almost exclusively to Shopify sign-up, trial, or upgrade pages. They include a partner reference so the sign-up can be attributed to us.
- Editorial links to Shopify documentation, the Shopify Help Center, or other reference pages are not monetized. They are there for the reader's benefit, not for revenue.
- Links to third parties (payment processors, app vendors, competing platforms) are also not affiliate links unless this is ever explicitly stated. Today, no third-party affiliate program is active on this site.
How we disclose it
Every article that contains an affiliate link displays an Affiliate Disclosure label near the top, with a tooltip that explains what the link does. Affiliate links are also tagged in the page's HTML with rel="sponsored nofollow" in line with FTC and search-engine guidance.
If you'd rather not use an affiliate link, you can always type shopify.com directly into your browser. Nothing on this site requires you to go through a tagged link.
What commercial relationships do not change
- Articles point out Shopify's limitations the same way regardless of whether they contain an affiliate link.
- We recommend against Shopify in articles where it's genuinely the wrong fit for the reader's use case.
- Pricing, fees, and feature comparisons are based on Shopify's public documentation, not on what would maximize sign-ups.
- No article is reordered, rewritten, or boosted based on how well it converts.
The only way the rest of the advice on this site is worth anything is if the commercial relationship doesn't bend it. That's a deliberate constraint we apply to ourselves.
Sponsored content and paid placements
We do not currently publish sponsored articles, paid product reviews, or “brought to you by” placements. If that ever changes, any sponsored content will be clearly labeled as such at the top of the article, separate from regular editorial pieces, and will still be subject to the standards described in our Editorial Policy.
Display ads (banner ads, programmatic ad networks) are not used on this site.
Services we sell directly
Some articles mention our own Shopify development services on ecom-store.pro. Those mentions are not affiliate income — they are first-party services. They appear only when relevant to the topic of the article and are framed as an option, not the default.
Reader trust
If you ever find an article on this site that reads like it's bending facts to push a sign-up, or where an affiliate link is obviously hiding a worse option, please email shopify@ecom-store.pro. That kind of feedback is treated as a bug and addressed directly in the article.
Changes to this policy
If we add new monetization channels — additional affiliate programs, sponsored content, or anything else — this page will be updated with the details and the date above will be revised before that monetization goes live.
