Packing slips and a basic order summary (Print order page) print from your Shopify admin without installing any apps: open an order and choose Print packing slips, or select several on the Orders page to print in bulk. Complete a draft order first: drafts can't be printed.

After you buy labels in Shopify, the Shipping labels page prints packing slips alongside them — a page available only in countries where you can buy shipping labels in the admin.

Which stores have invoice and pick list templates?

Invoices and pick lists come with order document templates, which need no app, but the feature is in early access, rolling out gradually. Its three Help Center pages, read on October 24, 2026, name no plan, country, POS limit or date for the rollout.

To check, open Settings > Shipping and delivery: in stores with the feature, the Documents section lists your document templates instead of a single Packing slip template item.

Templates are typed Invoice, Packing slip, Pick list or Blank template, several per type if you need them; all but pick lists take HTML, CSS and Liquid.

You print from an order, the Orders page or the Shipping labels page — up to 1,500 documents for each page size.

When do you still need Shopify Order Printer?

Without document templates, the free Shopify Order Printer app is the Help Center's route to invoices and pick lists. One exception needs no app: eligible orders shipping to the UK or the EU (Portugal excepted) get a downloadable VAT invoice PDF once you activate VAT invoices in Settings > Taxes and duties. Receipts aren't a template type, though stores with document templates can customize a Blank template “for any other document types”. The legacy Order Printer is deprecated; see which Order Printer app is current.

Invoice and blank templates share the app's Liquid variables and filters, but none of the Help Center's printing pages we read on October 24, 2026 describes moving Order Printer templates into document templates.
