A reduced plan price for the first months after the trial: on US pricing, $1 a month for 3 months. The amount is charged in local currency and differs by country.
Who qualifies
New stores on eligible plans. The Plus plan is not covered by the promotion.
When you can get it
After the free trial ends, if your store and plan are eligible: promotional pricing is only available to eligible merchants on eligible plans.
The catch
Changing plan tier keeps the original end date. Shopify doesn't extend or reset the promotion, and app fees still apply during it.
4 months free, then $1/month for 3 months; students at eligible US/Canada institutions.
Conditions and sources
What you get
4 months free to build your store; then $1/month for 3 months when you're ready to sell.
Who qualifies
Students currently enrolled at participating colleges and universities in the US and Canada, with an active student email address from an eligible institution.
When you can get it
Sign up using your institution email address to confirm you're an eligible student; find your school first.
The catch
You must be 18 or the age of majority where you reside. Activating $1/month adds 3 more months on top of what you've used. If unlisted, email students@shopify.com.
Stores created with an AI tool, such as the Stripe Projects CLI, or with a vibe code partner.
When you can get it
When the store is created through that route. If you choose a paid plan during the trial, charges start after it ends.
The catch
Shopify says "currently" — length can change. A store built via the Stripe Projects CLI can start on a paid plan instead, with no trial. If it ends before you pick one, the store pauses.
No published guarantee that a link sets trial length. Shopify's affiliate FAQ says it offers no discounts/coupons for affiliates — only the public free trial to promote.
Who qualifies
Anyone signing up through a Partner, affiliate or other link (checked: Shopify free-trial help page and pricing page, 2026-09-16).
When you can get it
The length is fixed by when you create your account and start the trial.
The catch
A trial can't be extended afterwards. Shopify says to find the current trial length by visiting shopify.com/free-trial, entering your email address and clicking Start free trial.
A lower effective monthly price for paying yearly. On US pricing, Basic is $39 a month billed monthly and $29 a month billed yearly.
Who qualifies
Stores on Basic, Grow or Advanced. Plus is priced by contract term instead (see Shopify Plus longer-term pricing).
When you can get it
When you choose or change your billing cycle.
The catch
You pay the year upfront. Grow and Advanced yearly prices are shown on the pricing page but not printed here, because the page has shown two different values for them.
Shopify Payments processing fees waived on a limited amount of transactions.
Conditions and sources
What you get
Processing fees waived for a limited amount of transactions: up to $1,500 USD standard, or up to $100,000 in-person, depending on the promotion.
Who qualifies
Merchants invited through the Shopify website (or by Shopify directly) who register for Shopify Payments as their primary payment provider and meet the invitation's conditions.
When you can get it
Applied once per eligible store, up to 5 stores per Shopify User account, while the promotion is active.
The catch
These are published terms, not a sign-up: whether a promotion is running now isn't public, and you only qualify by invitation.
US only: a one-time credit of up to $50 USD toward card readers.
Conditions and sources
What you get
A one-time hardware credit of up to $50 USD toward card readers on the Shopify Hardware Store.
Who qualifies
US merchants invited by Shopify who complete the actions in the invitation and pay one billing cycle on Basic, Grow, Advanced or Retail.
When you can get it
The billing cycle must be paid within 60 days of starting your free trial.
The catch
The credit expires 60 days after the trial starts, or immediately if you pause or cancel, close the store, or the account is frozen. The promotion is only available while supplies last.
Shopify Tax without charge until the store reaches $100,000 USD in global sales (for stores located in the EU, UK or Canada: €100,000, £100,000 or $100,000 CAD).
Who qualifies
Stores selling to the US, Canada, EU and UK. Stores created on or after May 13, 2026 count lifetime sales; older stores count sales per calendar year.
When you can get it
Automatically; the threshold applies to each store individually.
The catch
Above the threshold, a fee applies to taxed-region orders: for US-located stores, 0.35% on Basic/Grow/Advanced, 0.25% on Plus, capped at $0.99 per order.
10,000 free emails to send at the beginning of every month.
Who qualifies
Stores on the Basic, Grow, Advanced and Plus plans.
When you can get it
Resets every month.
The catch
Beyond the allowance, $1 USD per 1,000 emails, falling at higher volumes. Abandoned checkout automations are always free and don't count toward the limit.
If an eligible, protected order receives a fraudulent chargeback, you're reimbursed the chargeback amount and fee, and the chargeback process is handled for you.
Who qualifies
Merchants located in the United States with a US Shopify Payments account, on orders processed through Shop Pay.
When you can get it
Per order, when the order meets the protection conditions.
The catch
Not protected: digital/pickup orders, Shop Pay Installments, repeat subscriptions, orders not tracked-shipped within 7 days and in-transit within 10, or with an address changed after checkout.
Discounted shipping labels from Shopify-supported carriers; Shopify's US pricing page quotes up to 87% off on every paid plan, while Canada's steps from 45% on Basic to 53% on Advanced and Plus.
Who qualifies
Stores using Shopify Shipping. Shopify says the discount depends on your location, subscription plan and carrier.
When you can get it
Each time you buy a label in Shopify.
The catch
"Up to" is a ceiling, not your rate. International labels can't carry a declared value above $2,500 USD.
Funding, cashback and credits from Shopify's financial products and promotions. Each depends on an invitation, an approval or an account, so none of it is free money.
Shopify Capital
By invitation
Existing storeShopify Plus
Merchant cash advances and loans that you repay as you sell.
Merchant cash advances and loans, repaid as you sell.
Who qualifies
Eligible businesses; Shopify's own pages disagree on countries. The Help Center lists nine, including France, Germany, Ireland, the Netherlands and Spain; shopify.com/capital names only the US, Canada, UK and Australia.
When you can get it
When an offer appears: Shopify may invite you to apply, and offers show on the Finance page of your admin.
The catch
Eligibility is determined automatically by Shopify's underwriting model, using data that includes your sales, disputes and customer engagement. Treat your admin as the answer for your country.
US/Puerto Rico: 2% cashback on eligible Shopify purchases, 1% on eligible ads, capped yearly.
Conditions and sources
What you get
2% cashback on eligible Shopify purchases, such as shipping labels, apps and themes, up to $2,000 USD a year; separately, 1% on eligible ad payments, up to $1,000 USD a year.
Who qualifies
Merchants with a Shopify Balance account, available only with a physical residential address in the United States or Puerto Rico.
When you can get it
The 2% cashback is automatic once a Balance card is your primary payment method; ad-payment cashback has separate requirements.
The catch
Balance is a commercial card, not free money; ACH transfers don't earn cashback. Ad-payment cashback needs $10,000 spent on Shopify Credit last month, or $10,000 Capital funding in 12 months.
Bank-approved US merchants: 3% cashback on capped top-category spend, 1% otherwise.
Conditions and sources
What you get
3% cashback as a statement credit on up to US$250,000 a year in your top spend category (marketing, fulfillment or wholesale), then 1%; 1% on the other two.
Who qualifies
US merchants (including Puerto Rico) approved by the issuing bank. Those who have started applying for or currently have Shopify Capital funding can't apply.
When you can get it
After approval; cashback is applied when each monthly statement is generated.
The catch
It is a business charge card subject to bank approval. Paying over 10 months instead of in full costs a fee.
Credits on your Shopify account: 1% back on Shopify Payments transactions, 0.5% on others, up to $5,000 (Basic), $7,500 (Grow) or $10,000 (Advanced) USD.
Who qualifies
Only invited merchants who complete the 3-day free trial, choose Basic, Grow or Advanced, and pay one billing cycle within 30 days of creating the store.
When you can get it
For 6 months from the date you first select a qualifying plan.
The catch
Rewards are subscription credits, not cash: they can only be redeemed on upcoming Shopify plan subscription fees, and aren't applied until the store reaches $1,000 USD in sales.
The Plus trial, contract-term pricing and what Plus stores get included, each with the condition Shopify publishes for it.
Shopify Plus trial (paid)
Available
Shopify Plus
A paid trial of most Shopify Plus features for 1 to 2 months.
Conditions and sources
What you get
Access to most Shopify Plus features for 1 to 2 months, at $399 USD a month on US pricing.
Who qualifies
Eligible merchants; the length depends on your store status. Some Plus features, such as organization settings and expansion stores, aren't included.
When you can get it
Started from Settings, then Plan, in your admin, if your store is eligible.
The catch
It is a paid trial: automatic enrollment in full Plus if you take no action. Note: shopify.com/plus/pricing labels this sign-up button "Start for free".
The first 20 POS Pro locations are included in all Shopify Plus plans.
Who qualifies
Shopify Plus stores. If more than 20 locations use POS Pro and Shopify Payments is your primary payment provider for your retail locations, POS Pro is waived for your first 200 retail locations.
When you can get it
For as long as the store is on Plus.
The catch
The waiver beyond 20 locations is published with one condition: Shopify Payments as your primary payment provider for your retail locations.
Nothing today. The 120-day extended trial for Black entrepreneurs was last seen on shopify.com/1mbb in a February 2024 archive and is gone from the page.
Who qualifies
It was offered through the One Million Black Businesses initiative.
When you can get it
The wording disappeared between February 8 and 9, 2024, with no published announcement. Before that, the page answered how long the trial would be offered with: The 1MBB initiative will run until 2030.
The catch
The live 1MBB page now offers Basic for $1 a month for the first 6 months, for merchants in the US and Canada only.
The Shopify pages we checked publish no startup or nonprofit discount.
Conditions and sources
What you get
The pages we read publish no startup or nonprofit discount (checked: shopify.com/pricing, the free-trial and Shopify Plus plan help pages, 2026-09-16).
Who qualifies
Not applicable: the pages we read describe no such eligibility group.
When you can get it
Not applicable.
The catch
The published routes to a cheaper start are the trial, the introductory rate and yearly billing, listed above.
On all 33 pages, read on Sep 15, 2026, the trial is 3 days free, then 3 months at an introductory monthly amount. On 28 of them that amount is 1 unit of whatever currency the page prints; the 5 below print a different amount. 3 of the 28 — Hong Kong SAR, Mexico, New Zealand — print a US-dollar amount (US$1 / USD 1). The currency a page prints can depend on where the request comes from; these are the forms our reader was served.
Every row was checked against the official Shopify page named in its sources, on the date shown next to each quote. The quote is the sentence the row rests on; wording in the row never goes further than that sentence.
Shopify shows prices in the visitor's local currency, and a pricing page can render a different amount depending on where the request comes from. Dollar figures here are US pricing unless a row says otherwise. The introductory monthly rate differs by country, so it is shown in its own per-country section rather than as one number.
Figures that the rest of this site also uses, such as plan prices, the Shopify Tax threshold and the Shopify Messaging allowance, come from one data module and are checked against it at build time, so this page cannot drift from our guides.
Each row links to our deeper guide where one exists. This page is a map of what exists and who can get it; the guides explain what an offer means for your costs and plans.
Limits
Several offers are shown only inside a store's admin or sent by invitation. We can quote their published terms, but we cannot see or verify who is invited, so an invite-only row never means you will receive it.
A row marked not offered records what the pages we read do not describe, with the pages and the date. It is not proof that no such offer exists anywhere; Shopify can launch a promotion at any time.
Official pages sometimes disagree. Where two Shopify pages state different facts, such as the countries where Shopify Capital is available, both are shown, and your admin decides what applies to your store.
Offers change without notice. The date on each quote is the last time we read that page, and your admin and invoice are what count for your store.
