Which providers does Shopify point a Ghana store to?

Ghana isn't on Shopify's supported-countries list for Shopify Payments as of November 1, 2026, so you need a third-party payment provider.

Filtered to Ghana that day, Shopify's payment gateways page shows Paystack (preferred provider) first and Flutterwave - Africa Payments among others. One limit, in Shopify's words:

A provider's listing in the payment gateways page doesn't guarantee it's accessible in your specific store's admin due to factors such as your store's location, plan, or payment configuration.

If a provider you expect isn't in your admin's list, Shopify says to verify that your store address matches the country or region where the provider operates.

How do Paystack and Flutterwave compare on Ghana rates?

Paystack's published Ghana rate is lower in every row. On November 1, 2026, its App Store listing named Ghana; Flutterwave's didn't.

Read November 1, 2026: Paystack's fee article (edited September 15, 2026; its Ghana row doesn't mention VAT) and Flutterwave's Ghana page (excludes VAT and local taxes).

None of the provider pages we could read that day says these rates apply through its Shopify app, so confirm your rate with the provider.

Flutterwave's listing shows 1.4% - 3.8% per transaction without naming a country; the Ghana rates above come from its Ghana pricing page.

What does Shopify charge on top of the provider?

Shopify's third-party transaction fee comes on top of the provider's processing fees on all third-party gateway transactions: 2% on Basic, 1% on Grow, 0.6% on Advanced and 0.2% on Plus (pricing page, US view, November 1, 2026). POS orders and manual payment methods don't carry it; our surcharge breakdown has more.

Because Shopify Payments isn't available in Ghana, Shopify credits its fee in proportion to the amount you refund, 100% on a full refund, but only for a refund through your Shopify admin.
