Which stores can turn on Satispay?

Your store can offer Satispay, a digital wallet popular in Italy, when:

  • you set up Shopify Payments first;
  • your Shopify Payments account is located in one of 34 listed countries (our count, October 24, 2026);
  • you accept EUR at checkout;
  • your store is accessible and not in private mode;
  • your business type is eligible under the Shopify Payments Terms of Service and isn't in a category Satispay prohibits, such as gambling or cryptocurrency exchanges and wallets;
  • no “conflicting additional payment gateways” are active.

A second gate decides who sees it: only customers located in Italy who select EUR, even when your account is in Germany or the US.

How do you turn on Satispay, and what about its app?

Satispay has its own app on the Shopify App Store. Shopify requires you to deactivate any conflicting additional payment gateways before activating local payment methods, so review your additional payment gateways first.

Then enable Satispay under Local payment methods in your Shopify Payments settings:

In Shopify adminOpen in your store
  1. Settings
  2. Payments
  3. Shopify Payments
  4. Manage
  5. More actions
  6. Manage payment methods
  7. Local payment methods
  8. Satispay
  9. Enable

Deactivating it later removes it from your checkout for new orders.

It also works on Shopify POS if your retail location uses EUR and local payment methods are active in the Point of Sale channel. Customers scan the QR code with their device's camera, not the Satispay app.

What about limits, refunds and disputes?

  • A Satispay payment must be from €0.50 to €999,999.99.
  • Customers can't pay for subscription products with it.
  • Full or partial refunds work for up to 180 days after the original charge and take up to 5 minutes.
  • Customers can dispute for up to 120 calendar days. The amount is held from your balance until Satispay decides, your evidence is due within 15 calendar days, and there's no dispute fee.
  • Funds are captured immediately and added to your next available payout.
