No Shopify page we read (October 2026) describes a report for India's GSTR, Australia's BAS or New Zealand's GST return.

Which Shopify report shows the GST you collected?

The Taxes report gives “a summary of the sales taxes that were applied to your sales”, with each row showing a tax type, its rate and the tax charged. Total sales by order exports gross sales, net sales, taxes, returns and shipping. Shopify's Tax reports page lists neither as limited to one country.

No Shopify help page we read on October 14, 2026, India GST and Australian tax-reporting pages included, describes a report built for India's GSTR, Australia's BAS or New Zealand's GST return.

Australia's Shopify Payments tax reporting page covers filing the GST “paid on transaction fees” with the government: see how Shopify taxes its own fees.

How do you export the report for filing?

  1. From your Shopify admin, go to Analytics > Reports (staff need the Analytics permission).
  2. Filter Category to Finances and open Taxes (totals per tax rate) or Total sales by order (order-by-order lines).
  3. Set the date range to your return period.
  4. Reports show at most 1,000 rows, so export a CSV; in the Export report window, keep All results from the data query rather than Only results displayed in the report.
Steps 1–2: with Category set to Finances, Taxes and Total sales by order sit in the same list.
Step 4: All results from the data query is the default; keep it rather than Only results displayed in the report.

Filing stays yours: “Shopify doesn't remit or file your taxes for you, unless you use Shopify Tax and set up automated filing” (see who can use automated filing).

What changes for Shopify stores in Canada?

With Shopify Tax in Canada and CAD as your store currency, you also get the Canada sales tax report. Its Province summary groups GST and HST under Canada and is the view Shopify suggests for your CRA filing. One CSV export holds at most 1 month of data.

Check your Finances reports for Canada sales tax: if it's there, use its Province summary; if not, the export steps above still work, since Shopify's tax-service comparison lists tax reports for Shopify Tax, Basic Tax and Manual Tax in Canada. The Tax reports, Shopify Tax in Canada and finance-reports pages all name only Shopify Tax stores in CAD as having access; the finance-reports page adds that the Canada sales tax report also includes Basic Tax orders processed on or after January 1, 2026.
