The short version
You can connect Etsy to Shopify today with a third-party sync app from the Shopify App Store.
As of November 4, 2026, Marketplace Connect takes no new Etsy connections, though shops already selling through it can keep using it.
Etsy limits shipping data for shipping apps it doesn't name, in the countries its help page lists, and QuickSync, the one app whose setup we read, says the limit reaches it: a US shop connecting it for the first time now gets no street address and can't send tracking from the app, so those steps stay manual.
QuickSync syncs stock on every paid plan, from $19 a month for two shops and up to 1,000 items, and keeping listings updated and syncing orders start on its $29 Pro plan, so compare any app on what it does with orders before you look at its rating.
The Quick Verdict
Find your row. The sections below hold the reasoning and the sources.
Your route, by situation
| Your situation | Pick | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Already selling on Etsy through Marketplace Connect | Keep it running | Shopify's note says you can continue, and the pages we read don't cover reconnecting |
| New link, with stock and orders in sync | A third-party App Store app | It's the route Shopify's Etsy migration guide points to |
| Want to ship Etsy orders from Shopify | Ask the vendor about addresses before paying for order sync | Etsy limits shipping data for shipping apps it doesn't name, in the countries its help page lists, and QuickSync says that reaches it: US shops first connected on or after October 21, 2024 get no street address or tracking through it |
| Products only need to reach Shopify once | Store Migration CSV import | It creates drafts from your Etsy file, and Shopify's guide sends you to a third-party app, not to it, to keep the stores in sync |
| Still deciding whether Etsy stays | Settle that first | A connector only makes sense if both shops stay live |
You open Marketplace Connect to add your Etsy shop, and Etsy isn't among the marketplaces on offer. Nothing is wrong with your store: Shopify's help pages now say new Etsy connections can't be made through that app.
A connection is still possible through a third-party app, and that shifts what you have to check first. Order handling, listing limits and the way out now depend on the app and on Etsy's rules for it. This guide takes those choices in order, and it keeps what Shopify and Etsy state apart from what one app's documentation says.
What Closed in Marketplace Connect, and What Still Works
Key takeaway
Shopify states the change in one note, repeated across its Marketplace Connect help pages and its Etsy migration guide:
New connections to Etsy can't be made at this time with the Shopify Marketplace Connect app. If you're already selling on Etsy through Marketplace Connect, then you can continue to use the app.
Shopify's main Marketplace Connect help page lists the four marketplaces you can connect, read on November 4, 2026:
- Amazon
- Target Plus (United States only)
- Walmart (United States only)
- eBay
- Apps
- Marketplace Connect
For a new link, Shopify's Etsy migration guide says you can use a third-party app from the Shopify App Store to sync your listings, orders and inventory between Etsy and Shopify.
Some Shopify pages still name Etsy: the product page's meta description, the 2023 launch entry in the changelog, and Etsy pointers on several Marketplace Connect help pages, all read on November 4 and 5, 2026. Go by the note: it is the instruction on the pages you would follow to connect, and the app's listing doesn't name Etsy either.
- A date or reason for the closure: not on the seven help pages carrying the note, the product page, or Shopify's two changelog feeds.
- Another built-in Etsy connector: not on the sales channel help pages or those feeds. We did not read every topic of Shopify's built-in features pages.
- Whether a disconnected Etsy shop can reconnect: not on the 16 Marketplace Connect help pages or the Etsy migration guide.
We read these on November 4 and 5, 2026. They are limits of what we read, not proof that no answer exists.
Already Connected Through Marketplace Connect?
Key takeaway
If Etsy already runs through Marketplace Connect, there is nothing to replace today. Shopify's note says you can continue to use the app.
Don't add a second connector to test one. Shopify's setup page says it's important to have only one marketplace connector app connected to avoid data conflicts. That sentence sits under Before you connect, and it makes no exception for a connector used only for a different marketplace.
If you run Marketplace Connect for eBay or Amazon and want a separate app for Etsy, ask Shopify Support and the app's developer before you install it.
Treat disconnecting Etsy as one-way. The pages we read don't say a disconnected shop can reconnect, and the note says new connections can't be made. Etsy's help page on shipping apps, covered under addresses and tracking, points the same way by our reading: in the countries it names, shipping services integrated before its listed date continue to function as usual, and it doesn't say whether a reconnected app keeps that status.
Do You Need a Sync, or a One-Time Import?
Key takeaway
Three setups keep two shops running, and they differ in who corrects the stock after a sale.
Three ways to run Etsy and Shopify side by side
| Route | What keeps stock right | Fits when | Based on |
|---|---|---|---|
| Sync app | The app, in both directions | The same units sell in both shops, and a double sale would hurt | Shopify's Etsy migration guide and app listings |
| One-time CSV import | Nothing after the import | You need the products in Shopify once and stock isn't shared | Shopify's Etsy migration guide |
| Two shops run by hand | You, after every sale | Orders are few, or items are made to order and can't run out | Our reasoning; the Shopify and Etsy pages we read don't document it |
All three assume Etsy stays open. If that is the part you haven't decided, our Etsy migration guide weighs staying, moving and running both, with the fee math behind each. Come back here once the answer is to run both.
What a Store Migration Import Does
Key takeaway
Store Migration is Shopify's own app for this, used on a desktop device. It maps your Etsy file to Shopify product fields, with four limits worth knowing first:
- The listings CSV holds only listings that are currently for sale.
- Imported products are added as drafts.
- Inventory quantities go to your store's default location.
- A listing with 101 or more variation combinations imports without variants.
Decide Which Store Leads Before You Install
Key takeaway
Three things move between the shops, and each can have its own leader. Your choices decide what the app changes on its first run.
Three leaders to name before you install
| What moves | The question to settle | What goes wrong if you skip it |
|---|---|---|
| Catalog: titles, photos, prices, variations | In which store will you edit products from now on? | Edits made in the other store get replaced, or the two catalogs drift apart |
| Stock counts | Which store's counts are right today? | The wrong counts can spread to both shops when the sync first runs |
| Orders | In which store will you pack and ship? | Packing and tracking end up split between two screens |
As one example, QuickSync's overview gives these roles names: a starting store for stock, a main store for product edits and a packing store for orders. It also says Etsy can't be the packing store, because Etsy doesn't let apps create orders in it. In that app, then, the store you ship from has to be the other one.
Multiple locations need a decision of their own. QuickSync says Etsy keeps one count per variation and has no locations, so Etsy receives the count of the location you connect rather than the total. If stock sits in several places, our multi-location inventory guide covers how Shopify holds those counts.
If Shopify leads the catalog, choose what goes to Etsy rather than sending everything. Etsy's Creativity Standards allow items made, designed, handpicked or sourced by a seller, and sourced covers only craft supplies, party supplies and buyer-personalized items made by a production partner. They exclude, for example, resold commercially available items newer than 20 years, and they require you to disclose a production partner.
Etsy says it can remove listings that don't follow its policies, and that you still owe any fees incurred in listing them.
That matters because a connector can apply one default to everything it creates. QuickSync sets Who made it and When it was made once, for every Etsy listing it creates, so a catalog mixing your own work with resold or partner-made goods won't fit a single answer.
What Syncs and What Stays Behind
Key takeaway
We read one vendor's setup documentation in full, so the middle column is QuickSync's account of its own app, updated October 16, 2026. QuickSync has the most reviews in the app table below, but that isn't a recommendation: we haven't tested it, and we didn't open other vendors' documentation. The right column turns each line into a question you can put to any vendor.
What moves, in one app's documentation
| Data | What QuickSync documents | Ask any other app |
|---|---|---|
| Stock | Both ways. Changes reach Etsy as soon as QuickSync hears of them, and it checks Etsy for changes every 2 minutes. Every paid plan. If QuickSync's trial ends without a paid plan, its pricing page says Free keeps stock syncing for up to 100 products; its App Store listing says 100 variants for eligible shops. | How often do you check Etsy for stock changes? |
| Product details | One way, out of your main store: titles, descriptions, prices, images and variants. Copying missing products works on every paid plan; keeping listings updated needs Pro and above. | Can I sync stock only, and which way do details move? |
| Orders | From Etsy into your packing store once paid, checked every 5 minutes. Pro and above. Older orders can be fetched up to 14 days back. | Which plan includes orders, and can you fetch older ones? |
| Tracking | Back to Etsy when Shopify packs the order, unless Etsy restricts your shop. | Is tracking allowed for my country and connection date? |
| Left behind | Shop sections, materials, styles, personalization settings, and Etsy sales and coupons aren't sent. | Which Etsy fields does your app leave behind? |
What If Your Products Are Already in Both Stores?
Key takeaway
QuickSync says that if Shopify and Etsy both have a listing with the same SKU, that is one product to it, whatever the titles, photos or prices say. Codes must be identical. Matching never creates listings on its own, and a product without a twin is left alone unless you ask for it to be created.
The duplicate risk sits in that last step. A product whose code differs between stores counts as two products, so if you then choose Create missing products, the app can build a second listing for something you already sell. Fix the codes first.
Separately, the first match sets every store's stock to the counts of the starting store, so some numbers will change on day one.
Will a Sync Overwrite Your Etsy Titles, Tags and Photos?
Key takeaway
The two modes behave differently, so choose on purpose:
- Stock only. QuickSync says connecting reads your shop and doesn't change your listings, and product details change only once product syncing is on. Your Etsy titles, tags and photos stay as they are.
- Full product sync. Details flow one way from your main store. QuickSync's example: change a price on Etsy instead, and the next edit to that product in your main store puts the price back.
If you tuned your Etsy titles and tags for Etsy search, that second behavior is the one to weigh. You can stay on stock only, or make Etsy the main store, which QuickSync offers on Pro and above. An app that also pushes details may rewrite text to fit Etsy: QuickSync turns a title with two capitals in a row into title case, turns HTML descriptions into plain text and sends only the first 13 tags.
Listing Limits That Change Your Catalog
Key takeaway
Limits as QuickSync reports them
| Field | Etsy's limit, per QuickSync | What QuickSync does about it |
|---|---|---|
| SKU | 32 characters | Sends a shorter code that starts with QS-, still linked to your product |
| Title | 140 characters | Cleans it, then cuts it at 140 |
| Tags | 13 per listing, 20 characters each | Removes unsupported characters and repeats, then sends the first 13 |
| Photos | 20 per listing | Sends the first 20 |
| Quantity | 999 per variation | Sends 999 when you have more |
| Options | 2 option groups, 70 values each, 400 combinations | Merges 3 groups into 2 where it can, and stops the product above the limits |
Source: QuickSync documentation, read November 5, 2026. We did not read an Etsy page stating these limits.
Two cases need work before you connect. Etsy doesn't let apps change the variations on a listing with domestic and global pricing, QuickSync says, so its stock and prices won't sync until that pricing is off. And long or inconsistent codes cause trouble on both sides, so settle them early with our answer on formatting Shopify SKUs.
Will Etsy Orders Arrive With an Address and Tracking?
Key takeaway
Etsy sets this rule, and it varies by country. Etsy's help page on third-party shipping providers lists which apps will automatically import and export all shipping data. For the United States, as of October 21, 2024, it names Shippo and ShipStation as the only ones, and other countries have their own apps and dates.
Other third-party shipping apps can still be added to your Etsy shop. However, not all functionality will be available.
The affected actions are accessing shipping addresses, submitting tracking numbers and marking items as shipped, and Etsy says they must then be done manually. That page speaks of shipping apps and doesn't name catalog connectors. The link to connectors comes from QuickSync, which says Etsy restricts these actions for some third-party integrations, depending on shipping origin, integration date and approved-provider rules.
A new connection falls after the date by definition. For a US shop first connected on or after October 21, 2024, QuickSync says Etsy leaves the street address out of the orders it sends apps and refuses tracking from them, while buyer names and emails still arrive. Its instruction is to copy the address from Etsy, add tracking there and mark the order shipped there.
So price order sync with that in mind: the order can appear in Shopify while the shipping work stays in Etsy.
If the vendor says no, you have two setups: order sync with the address copied from Etsy and tracking added there, or stock sync alone with Etsy orders shipped from Etsy. Stock stays shared either way. The second setup is our reasoning, not a documented route.
Some listings promise more. The shopUpz listing says every Etsy order arrives with full customer details and tracking synced back automatically, and we haven't tested that claim. Etsy's page doesn't name that app. Get the vendor's answer for your country and connection date in writing.
A Shopify changelog entry of May 21, 2025 on automated tax filing says marketplace facilitators such as Etsy are responsible for the collection and remittance of sales tax on behalf of sellers using their platform. The same entry adds that certain states and localities require you to report marketplace sales in your gross sales totals. That entry covers US sales tax and Shopify Tax filing, and it doesn't address how a sync app records Etsy orders.
Which Apps Connect Etsy to Shopify?
Key takeaway
Shopify's migration guide says Shuttle and ShopList can help with syncing your stores. Those are examples, and the wording stops short of a recommendation or a certification. Etsy's API Terms of Use add that an app must display a statement that it uses Etsy's API but is not endorsed or certified by Etsy, so a name containing Etsy tells you nothing about approval.
Search needs care too. The App Store search for Etsy showed 1,534 apps on November 5, 2026. The first four positions carried an Ad label, QuickSync and DPL each appeared again lower on the page we captured, and the first page included review importers that don't sync a catalog.
14 Etsy connector listings read on November 4 and 5, 2026
Etsy connectors we read on the App Store
| App (listing title) | What the listing says it does | Rating / reviews | Focus |
|---|---|---|---|
| QuickSync: Etsy Integration | Syncs inventory and supported product details, and brings new Etsy orders into Shopify | 4.8 / 2,018 | Etsy listing, vendor covers other channels |
| CedCommerce Etsy Integration | Syncs listings, inventory, orders and pricing | 4.5 / 1,246 | Etsy |
| LitCommerce eBay Etsy Amazon + | Connects many marketplaces, with Etsy as one of them | 4.8 / 983 | Multichannel |
| DPL ‑ Etsy Integration | Syncs products, location-wise inventory, pricing and orders | 4.9 / 967 | Etsy |
| Trunk ‑ Stock Sync & Bundling | Syncs stock across sales channels, Etsy among them | 4.9 / 409 | Multichannel |
| Shuttle ‑ Sync with Etsy (named in Shopify's help) | Offers real-time stock sync against overselling | 4.7 / 229 | Etsy |
| shopUpz ‑ Etsy Sync & Import | Syncs listings, orders and stock, and says tracking returns to Etsy automatically | 4.7 / 198 | Etsy |
| velopLab Etsy Sync & Importer | Imports orders and products, and syncs inventory and prices | 4.6 / 68 | Etsy |
| SP Etsy Importer & Sync | Connects an Etsy shop without spreadsheets | 4.7 / 45 | Etsy |
| Waytoapps: Etsy listing Orders (Shopify's help calls it Etsy Integration - ShopList) | Syncs Etsy listings, orders and inventory | 2.3 / 40 | Etsy |
| InfoShore Etsy Integration | Moves orders and products between Etsy and Shopify | 4.9 / 31 | Etsy |
| Athlete ‑ Etsy Data Sync | Syncs inventory and orders, including bundles | 5.0 / 5 | Etsy |
| Etsy Integration by ARC | Syncs products, inventory and orders in real time | 5.0 / 5 | Etsy |
| Webkul Etsy Connector | Integrates Shopify with Etsy | 1.0 / 1 | Etsy |
Ratings and review counts read from each listing as of November 4, 2026 (Waytoapps and Webkul on November 5, 2026), sorted by review count. This is not our ranking, and none of these apps has been through our own test. The sample isn't complete: magnalister, Market Sync, Salestio, Nembol and Easy:Import also appeared in the search, and we did not read those listings.
Before you install, put these questions to the vendor:
- Address and tracking: will Etsy orders carry a street address and accept tracking for my country and connection date? Can Shippo or ShipStation run alongside your app?
- Stock only: can I sync stock without touching my listings, and on which plan?
- Direction: which way do product details move, and can Etsy lead?
- Locations: how do several Shopify locations map to Etsy's single count?
- Messages: do Etsy buyer messages stay in Etsy, or does your app bring them into Shopify?
Prices are the last filter, and we checked them for one app only. QuickSync's pricing page, read November 5, 2026, lists Lite at $19 a month for up to 1,000 items and Pro at $29 for up to 2,500, each covering two connected shops, with larger plans on the same page.
QuickSync counts each variation a buyer can pick as one item, leaving out archived and unpublished products, and charges nothing per order. Order sync starts on Pro, so that is its entry price if you want orders in Shopify.
How to Connect Etsy: One App's Documented Steps
Key takeaway
Etsy's help page on apps sends you to the developer, and it adds that you may need to agree to the developer's terms and may be subject to fees:
Create an account from the developer's website and follow the steps to connect the app to your Etsy shop.
Etsy's API terms also bar an app from collecting member ID and password combinations, so an app that asks you to type your Etsy password deserves a second look. Tick the stages below as you go.
Connect Etsy to Shopify with a sync appTick each stage as you settle it. Progress is saved in this browser.
Connect Etsy to Shopify with a sync app
Tick each stage as you settle it. Progress is saved in this browser.
Give every variation one SKU and compare your catalog with the app's limits. QuickSync, for example, matches by SKU alone and accepts 2 option groups, 70 values each and 400 combinations.
Before you tick this off
- Every variation has a SKU used once in the shop, drafts and inactive listings included
- A product sold in both stores carries the identical SKU in both
- No listing you need synced goes over the app's option limits
- Domestic and global pricing is off on any listing you need updated
Sign in to the right Etsy shop and approve the app on Etsy's side. In QuickSync that starts at Settings, Stores, Add a store, Etsy.
Before you tick this off
- You are signed in at etsy.com as the shop you want connected
- You approved access without typing your Etsy password into the app
- The app shows the shop as connected; QuickSync's card moves from Connecting to Connected
Set the defaults Etsy needs on new listings. In QuickSync that is Manage, Review settings, and syncing won't start until you've saved them once, even for stock only.
Before you tick this off
- A default category, who made it and when it was made are set truthfully for what you will send
- A shipping profile and a return policy exist in Etsy and are selected
- A processing profile is selected or created
Name the store whose counts are right and, if you sync details, the store you edit in. QuickSync calls them the starting store and the main store, and on your first setup they have to be the same store; stock sync is on every paid plan, and ongoing product sync starts on Pro.
Before you tick this off
- You know which store's stock counts the first match will copy
- You chose between stock only and full product sync on purpose
- You reviewed the estimated Etsy listing fees; in QuickSync the Product Syncing switch and later product additions create listings without asking again
New listings can wait as Etsy drafts. In QuickSync every new listing starts as one and publishes only when the product is active, has a photo and Create as draft is off.
Before you tick this off
- You looked under Listings in Etsy's Shop Manager
- Titles and descriptions still read correctly after the app's clean-up
- Nothing you meant to keep off Etsy was created
Do this once you know how addresses and tracking will reach you. In QuickSync, order sync needs Pro and brings in paid Etsy orders from that point on; older ones can be fetched up to 14 days back.
Before you tick this off
- Your packing store is the one you ship from
- You know whether Etsy orders will carry a street address for your shop
- Your team knows where to add tracking and mark an Etsy order shipped
This is our advice, not a vendor step: change the stock of one variation in each store and confirm the other side follows before you trust the sync.
Before you tick this off
- A change in Shopify reached Etsy
- A change in Etsy reached Shopify inside the app's checking interval
- A paid test order, if you can place one, arrived where you pack
What Breaks After You Connect, and the Fix
Key takeaway
Another app will word these differently, but they are the cases worth asking it about.
Common failures, per QuickSync's documentation
| What you see | Why, per QuickSync | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Multiple same SKU found | Two Etsy listings share a SKU, and drafts and inactive listings count | Give each listing its own code |
| A listing goes inactive | Etsy won't keep a listing live with nothing to sell, so it is switched off at zero stock | Activate it in Etsy after a restock: QuickSync treats a listing it deactivated at zero as one you switched off, and relists only those Etsy shows as sold out |
| A synced product isn't visible on Etsy | It is probably a draft, or a missing profile stopped it | Check drafts under Listings, then Needs attention on the Products page |
| Etsy requires a variation change in Shop Manager | Apps can't change variations on a listing with domestic and global pricing | Turn that pricing off in the listing if you want updates to reach it |
| Stock and order checks stop | Your shop is on vacation, so the Etsy store is paused | Turn vacation mode off in Etsy, then turn off the switch in Review settings |
| The Etsy card shows Needs attention | Etsy stopped accepting the app's access | Click Reconnect and approve the same account; synced products and orders stay |
| A cancelled Etsy order is still open in Shopify | The cancellation doesn't reach the copy right away | Cancel the Shopify copy yourself |
| Listing fees keep arriving from Etsy | Listings the app creates have auto-renew on, with no setting to turn it off | Budget for renewals; Etsy bills them, not the app |
Overselling doesn't disappear. QuickSync checks Etsy for stock changes every 2 minutes and for new orders every 5, so a last unit can sell in both shops inside that gap. Hold back a little stock on items you can't replace quickly. A one-of-a-kind item has no buffer, so decide whether it should be listed in both shops at all.
Support sits with the developer. Etsy says that if you have trouble with an app connected to your shop, you should contact the app developer's support team. Check how that team responds before you depend on it.
How to Disconnect Without Deleting Your Listings
Key takeaway
Etsy describes the exit the same way for every app: go to Account settings, select Apps, open the Connected apps tab and select Revoke. Any subscription or account deletion is handled with the developer.
When you disconnect an app from your shop, the app will no longer have access to your Etsy data going forward. However, they may retain data that they previously received.
QuickSync says disconnecting a shop removes its products and matches from QuickSync, though its listings stay in Etsy, and that uninstalling the app in Shopify to start over deletes your whole QuickSync account, Etsy connection included. Ask any other vendor the same two questions before you install, because leaving is easier to plan while nothing depends on the app yet.
The Bottom Line
Key takeaway
The closure removed one route and left a less tidy one, where the details depend on the app and on Etsy's rules for it.
