The short version
If your stock already sits in Amazon FBA and also fills Shopify or Amazon orders, ship TikTok Shop orders through Amazon MCF with a connector app; if your own warehouse or a 3PL already ships Shopify orders from that stock, keep TikTok orders there too. If the SKUs sell only on TikTok Shop, sit outside FBA and ship in the US, the UK or five EU delivery countries, use Fulfilled by TikTok, whose orders never count as late dispatches under TikTok's US rules.
On Amazon's US rate card dated June 1, 2026, a one-unit Standard order of 4 oz or less lists at $7.34 (small standard) or $7.56 (large standard) outside the holiday peak, excluding a 3.5% surcharge and the 35% discount Amazon applies to identified US TikTok Shop orders submitted through a supported integration partner. Under TikTok's US rules, regular orders that are not FBT must be In Transit within 2 business days, and FBT only accepts products with a shelf life if they arrive with their full usage period plus 90 days of it left.
The Quick Verdict
The choice looks like a price comparison and is really a stock decision: find the row that describes your stock, and the quiz further down crosses all four signals at once.
Who should ship your TikTok Shop orders, by situation
| Your situation | Pick | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Your stock already sits in Amazon FBA and also fills Shopify or Amazon orders | Amazon MCF | MCF ships every channel from a single pool of inventory; TikTok Shop reaches it through a connector |
| Your own warehouse or a 3PL already ships your Shopify orders from this stock | Your own warehouse or a 3PL | One pool keeps serving every channel, and TikTok permits third-party fulfillment providers as long as you keep ownership of the inventory |
| These SKUs sell only on TikTok Shop, in the US, the UK or one of five EU delivery countries, and the stock is not in Amazon FBA | Fulfilled by TikTok | FBT orders never count as late dispatches in TikTok's US Late Dispatch Rate, and the stock gets its own Shopify location |
| Some batches would arrive with less than their full usage period plus 90 days of shelf life, and the stock is not in FBA | Your own warehouse or a 3PL | FBT intake requires that buffer; inventory that misses FBT's rules may be rejected, returned or destroyed |
| Your TikTok Shop sells in another market | Ship it yourself while you confirm | FBT is documented for the US, the UK and five EU countries; for MCF, Amazon's TikTok Shop promotions name the US, the UK, Germany, France, Italy and Spain, and no Amazon page we read on September 28, 2026 names another country for TikTok Shop orders |
Three Ways a TikTok Shop Order Leaves Your Store
Key takeaway
Once TikTok Shop runs through your Shopify store, someone has to pick, pack and hand over every order. There are three physical places that can do it: Fulfilled by TikTok (FBT), where TikTok stores and ships the stock; Amazon Multi-Channel Fulfillment (MCF), where Amazon ships off-Amazon orders from your FBA inventory; and your own warehouse or a 3PL you hire. The table below is the short version of every section that follows.
Separate from where the stock sits is who buys the shipping label — TikTok's shipping service or your own carrier accounts. Which of those jobs happens in Shopify and which in Seller Center is covered in our TikTok Shop integration guide; this article is about the warehouse.
Compare the three routes side by side
FBT, MCF or your own warehouse — find your row
| Question | Fulfilled by TikTok | Amazon MCF | Your warehouse or a 3PL |
|---|---|---|---|
| Who holds the stock | TikTok's FBT warehouse | Amazon's fulfillment network (your FBA inventory) | You, or a 3PL you hire |
| Which orders that stock fills | TikTok Shop orders; TikTok keeps FBT stock separate from your direct-to-consumer pool | Every channel from one pool — Amazon, your Shopify store, TikTok Shop | Whatever you route to it |
| Markets (as of September 28, 2026) | US, UK; warehouses in Germany and Spain deliver to Spain, Germany, Italy, France and Ireland | MCF runs in 11 countries; for TikTok Shop orders, Amazon's promotion pages name the US, the UK, Germany, France, Italy and Spain, and no Amazon page we read on September 28, 2026 names another country | Any market where you sell on TikTok Shop |
| Packaging rules | FBT's own intake requirements; under TikTok's US rules, exempt from its customer-order packaging rules | Unbranded by default; TikTok's US customer-order packaging rules apply | TikTok's US customer-order packaging rules apply |
| Can a late order count in Late Dispatch Rate? (TikTok US rules) | No — FBT orders sit only in the denominator | Yes | Yes |
| Where returns go | FBT returns routed to an FBT warehouse are inspected by TikTok | A seller-controlled return address you enter in Seller Center — never an Amazon warehouse | Your own address |

Where Are Fulfilled by TikTok and Amazon MCF Available?
Key takeaway
Availability is the first gate: a route that does not exist in your market is not a choice. The two services answer it differently — TikTok publishes one guide per market, while Amazon publishes several country lists that each measure something else.
FBT: US, UK and five EU delivery countries
TikTok documents FBT in its US Seller Center and its UK Seller Center, each with its own guide. In the EU, TikTok's Spanish Seller Center describes warehouses in Germany and Spain that fulfill and deliver orders to customers in Spain, Germany, Italy, France and Ireland. The Shopify connection steps later in this article come from the US guide.
MCF: 11 countries, but no complete TikTok Shop list
Key takeaway
Amazon says MCF is offered in 11 different countries, and its Shopify integration page lists nine for the free Amazon MCF App for Shopify. These are different lists, not versions of one — each row below states what it covers.
Compare Amazon's four availability statements
Amazon's country lists, and what each one covers
| What the list covers | Countries | Amazon's wording |
|---|---|---|
| MCF as a service, worldwide | United States, Canada, Mexico, United Kingdom, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, India, Japan, Australia | "MCF is offered in 11 different countries around the world" |
| The free Amazon MCF App for Shopify | US, UK, CA, DE, FR, IT, ES, JP, IN | "…and is soon coming to all MCF supported countries" — no date or list given for the rest |
| The App Store listing «Amazon MCF and Buy with Prime» | US, UK, EU, Japan, Canada, Australia | Where the app manages catalog and orders, per its Shopify App Store description |
| MCF for TikTok Shop orders | The US, the UK, Germany, France, Italy and Spain, as named in Amazon's TikTok Shop promotions (promotion scopes, not a full country list); outside the US, a regional fulfillment center | "TikTok Shop orders in the US" (Amazon US); "TikTok Shop orders in the UK and EU4 (Germany, France, Italy, Spain)" (Amazon UK); outside the US: "enter a centrally located Amazon fulfillment center in your local region" |
Sources: supplychain.amazon.com (MCF global, Shopify integration, MCF for TikTok Shop), supplychain.amazon.co.uk (TikTok Shop promotion) and apps.shopify.com/buy-with-prime, read September 27–28, 2026.
The row that matters for this decision is the last one. Amazon's MCF for TikTok Shop guide, in its note on which warehouse address to designate in TikTok Shop Seller Center, tells sellers outside the US to enter a centrally located Amazon fulfillment center in their local region. Amazon's UK site goes further: its TikTok Shop promotion page says that from September 9, 2026, MCF offers 35% off Standard and Expedited fulfillment rates, for envelope and parcel sizes but not oversize, for TikTok Shop orders in the UK, Germany, France, Italy and Spain for 12 months; Amazon's US promotion, which started July 16, 2026, offers 35% off Standard and Expedited rates for TikTok Shop orders in the US.
Those are promotion scopes, not a declared list of every country where MCF serves TikTok Shop. Beyond the US and those five countries, none of the Amazon pages we read on September 28, 2026 names another country for TikTok Shop orders — Ireland included. We read the MCF for TikTok Shop guide, the global MCF page, the Shopify integration page, the MCF pricing page and both TikTok Shop promotion pages.
Treat the 11-country list as the outer boundary, not as confirmation, and ask your connector about your market before you send stock.
TikTok's Rules Change With Who Ships
Key takeaway
The second gate is the rulebook. Getting into a route is one question; how TikTok measures the orders that route ships is another, and it is the one that shows up in your seller metrics every week.
Do MCF orders count toward TikTok's Late Dispatch Rate?
Key takeaway
TikTok's US rule is explicit: starting January 26, 2026, regular orders must be marked In Transit within 2 business days, counted from Awaiting Shipment. How it scores you on that clock is a formula that splits the two kinds of order:
Late Dispatch Rate = Number of non-Fulfilled by TikTok (FBT) orders dispatched later than the dispatch SLA / Total number of orders that should have been dispatched within the dispatch SLA (including FBT orders)
Read the numerator: an FBT order can never be a late dispatch, while an order shipped by MCF, your warehouse or a 3PL can. The consequence is spelled out on the same page — when your Late Dispatch Rate is greater than 10%, TikTok takes enforcement action under its Seller Enforcement Policy.
Do not read Amazon's speeds as an answer to this clock. MCF's rate card quotes 3 business days for Standard and 2 for Expedited, click to delivery; TikTok's clock runs from Awaiting Shipment to In Transit. The two measure different stretches of the order's life, so the first says nothing about the second — watch your own Late Dispatch Rate in the first weeks after you switch.
Tracking is measured the same way. TikTok's Valid Tracking Rate page exempts TikTok Shipping and FBT from that metric; orders shipped through MCF or your own carrier accounts are not in that exemption. Whether a tracking number you add in Shopify reaches TikTok Shop is covered in our answer on tracking sync.
Packaging and shelf life: two different rulebooks
Key takeaway
TikTok's customer-order shipping requirements exempt FBT: sellers using FBT are not subject to those packaging requirements. A carton packed by Amazon, by your team or by a 3PL is not covered by that exemption. When you ship through your own carrier accounts, which TikTok calls Seller Shipping, the switch itself happens in Seller Center; the steps are in our answer on switching to Seller Shipping.
FBT replaces those rules with its own intake rules, and the one that decides whether a product can go in at all is shelf life. Products arriving at an FBT warehouse need enough remaining shelf life to cover the full usage period, plus an additional 90 days, and TikTok varies the requirement by category. What happens when a shipment falls short is stated plainly:
If FBT packaging requirements are not met, inventory may be rejected, returned, destroyed, or delayed during receiving, and additional service fees may apply.
MCF has its own packaging default, and it matters if your brand lives in the unboxing: Amazon picks and packs MCF orders with unbranded packaging by default, according to its MCF overview page.
Can FBT Stock Fill Your Shopify Orders Too?
Key takeaway
Amazon builds MCF around sharing. It fulfills orders across all your sales channels — Amazon, DTC, social platforms, and more — by using a single pool of inventory. One unit in FBA can fill an Amazon order today and a TikTok Shop order tomorrow, which is why MCF is the natural route when that stock already serves several channels.
FBT is built the other way. Once FBT is connected through TikTok for Shopify, the stock appears in Shopify as a separate location, with inventory dedicated to FBT kept separate from the primary Direct-to-Consumer (D2C) stock pool. Every unit you send there is a unit your Shopify storefront stops selling from — which is exactly what you want for TikTok-only SKUs, and exactly what you do not want for a bestseller that sells everywhere.
If you run several Shopify locations, the order a TikTok Shop sale draws stock from follows Shopify's own routing — covered in our answer on which location a TikTok Shop order uses.
Which Route Fits Your Store?
The verdict at the top answers by one signal at a time; this answers by combination — your market, where the stock sits today, which channels it must also serve, and whether it expires. If your market, FBA stock or short-dated batches already settle the route, the quiz says so; otherwise it weighs whether this stock serves TikTok alone. Every route ends in a short plan: what to connect, what to set up, and the TikTok rule that applies.

How Each Option Connects to Shopify and TikTok Shop
Key takeaway
The two services plug in from opposite ends. FBT is a TikTok feature, so it lives in the TikTok app you already use for the channel. MCF is an Amazon service, so to automate TikTok Shop orders you connect it through software that sits in between.
FBT: registered in TikTok for Shopify, stocked as its own location
Key takeaway
According to TikTok's US guide for Shopify sellers, registration starts in the TikTok for Shopify app under Shop settings → Fulfillment. After you connect, Shopify lists a new location, TikTok FBT Warehouse, and the stock in it is the stock TikTok ships.
That is the whole Shopify side of FBT. Where to register, what syncs once you are connected and what changes for buyer data are covered step by step in our answer on whether Shopify sellers can use FBT.
MCF: a connector to Seller Central, or a route through Shopify
Key takeaway
TikTok does not treat MCF as a workaround. Its US Seller University lists MCF among the fulfillment options for the channel in so many words:
Amazon Multi-Channel Fulfillment (MCF) is a third-party logistics (3PL) solution that can help you streamline your business by allowing you to leverage Amazon's fulfillment network and expertise to pick, pack, and deliver orders from any of your off-Amazon ecommerce sales channels, including TikTok Shop.
The link itself is an app. TikTok's page names some of the MCF-supporting apps in the TikTok Shop App Store, and Amazon's guide names several integration platforms of its own. Both are examples rather than full directories, so the table shows who names what, not everything that exists.

| GeekSeller | Yes | — | Yes |
Sources: TikTok Shop Academy (US), About Amazon Multi-Channel Fulfillment Apps («Some of the MCF-supporting apps include») and Amazon's MCF for TikTok Shop guide («such as»), read September 27, 2026. Examples, not complete lists. Amazon's TikTok Shop promotion page lists 29 supported integration partners (read September 28, 2026), among them Pipe17, CedCommerce, ChannelEngine, Order Desk, GeekSeller and Shopify but not 4Seller ERP; its 35% US discount requires order-level attribution through one of them.
Amazon's guide also documents a route through Shopify: you can integrate your Amazon Seller Central account with Shopify through the Amazon MCF App for Shopify — listed in the Shopify App Store as Amazon MCF and Buy with Prime, developed by Amazon — "and then connect to TikTok Shop using a supported TikTok Shop integration downstream from Shopify." Amazon's US TikTok Shop promotion page adds that TikTok Shop orders routed through the MCF and Buy with Prime app for Shopify receive the promotion's reduced rate (see the costs section below), but that you are responsible for making sure your Shopify connector passes order origin data to Shopify; orders from the legacy Multi-Channel Fulfillment app do not receive the discount.
One setup condition depends on how your shop ships today. Amazon's guide says sellers with access to Seller Shipping on TikTok Shop may continue fulfilling orders via Amazon MCF with no workflow changes required at this time and no need to create an Amazon MCF warehouse, while "for sellers that do not have access to Seller Shipping, you must set up an MCF warehouse in TikTok Shop Seller Center if you want to fulfill orders using MCF."
What Each Option Costs
Key takeaway
There is no honest single number for "FBT versus MCF per order". The two services bill from different documents with different inputs, so the comparison has to happen on your own SKUs — weigh them against each rate card, not against each other's headline.
How much does Amazon MCF charge per TikTok Shop order?
Key takeaway
On the US card, a one-unit Standard-speed order of a small standard item weighing 4 oz or less lists at $7.34, with a 3.5% fuel and logistics-related surcharge applied to MCF fulfillment fees in the US; the large standard tier at the same weight lists at $7.56. Heavier items and multi-unit orders are priced on the same card. These are list fulfillment fees only; storage is not priced in this article.

Amazon MCF in the US: the lines a TikTok order touches
| Cost line | US figure | Boundary |
|---|---|---|
| Standard speed, 1 unit, small standard, 4 oz or less | $7.34 | Non-peak list rate; rate card dated June 1, 2026 |
| Standard speed, 1 unit, large standard, 4 oz or less | $7.56 | Non-peak list rate; rate card dated June 1, 2026 |
| Fuel and logistics-related surcharge | 3.5% of MCF fulfillment fees | US; also applied on top of peak fees |
| Holiday peak fees | October 15, 2026 – January 14, 2027 | "The same per-unit increases as last year's rates" — check the peak table before Q4 |
| Speeds on the card | Standard: 3 business days · Expedited: 2 business days | Click-to-delivery, not time to dispatch; the June 1, 2026 card lists these two |
| TikTok Shop offer | 35% off Standard and Expedited rates, for 12 months | Identified US TikTok Shop orders submitted through a supported integration partner; manual Seller Central orders do not qualify. Amazon's promotion page is dated July 16, 2026 (MCF pricing and promotion pages, read September 28, 2026) |
Sources: Amazon MCF rate card («As of June 1, 2026»), MCF pricing page and Amazon's TikTok Shop promotion page, read September 27–28, 2026. US only.
Two dated items sit on top of those rates. Amazon's MCF pricing page says holiday peak fulfillment fees apply from October 15, 2026 to January 14, 2027, with the same per-unit increases as last year and the surcharge applied on top — so a TikTok Shop plan built on the non-peak figures needs a second look before Q4.
And Amazon's MCF pricing page advertises a TikTok Shop discount: "Save 35% on Standard and Expedited MCF fulfillment rates for TikTok Shop orders in the US for 12 months. The discount applies automatically to identified orders submitted through a supported integration partner." Amazon's US TikTok Shop promotion page, dated July 16, 2026, adds the limits: the promotion applies to US-only shipments at this time, manual Seller Central orders and orders from the legacy Multi-Channel Fulfillment app do not receive it, and Amazon may modify or discontinue it at any time. So the rate-card figures above are list rates, not what a qualifying TikTok Shop order pays.
If the same FBA pool also ships your Amazon marketplace orders, how MCF's per-unit fee compares with FBA's on those orders is worked through in our Shopify–Amazon guide's fulfillment comparison.
FBT: priced in TikTok's own documentation
FBT is TikTok's own service, so its fees sit in TikTok's documentation, not on Amazon's card — which is why the MCF rows above have no FBT counterpart here. How TikTok charges FBT per unit, what storage costs and how the UK differs from the US are covered in our answer on what FBT costs Shopify sellers.
Where Returns Go in Each Route
Key takeaway
FBT keeps returns inside TikTok. For returns routed to an FBT warehouse, TikTok's returns requirements say TikTok Shop manages the inspection and refund review using warehouse inspection evidence, and sellers do not need to inspect those items directly. MCF is the one route where the return address trips sellers up, and Amazon addresses it head-on:
please do not provide an Amazon warehouse address. Amazon processes returns dynamically across multiple warehouses so it isn't possible to list a single MCF warehouse address as your returns warehouse in TikTok Shop. Instead, enter a seller-controlled return address in TikTok Shop Seller Center.
In practice that means an MCF seller still needs a seller-controlled address for TikTok returns; Amazon's examples are a 3PL or warehouse you operate that can receive returns, your business address if you can process returns there, or a dedicated returns partner. If you ship from your own warehouse, that address is simply the one you already use.
When Your Own Warehouse or a 3PL Is the Better Call
Key takeaway
Neither service is required. TikTok's best practices for order fulfillment allow third-party fulfillment providers to pack and ship your items as long as you maintain ownership of the inventory. That covers a 3PL as much as it covers MCF — and your own team needs no permission at all.
The price of this route is the clock: under TikTok's US rules every regular order must be In Transit within 2 business days, and every late one counts.
Three situations point here: short-dated batches FBT would refuse, a TikTok Shop market that neither FBT's guides nor Amazon's TikTok Shop pages name, and stock that already serves your Shopify store from a warehouse you run. Whether that warehouse should be yours or a 3PL's is a cost question of its own, worked through in our 3PL vs in-house fulfillment guide.
The Bottom Line
Key takeaway
What settles the route is where the stock lives and which orders it must fill, not the per-order price. MCF shares one pool across every channel; FBT carves out a TikTok-only pool and, under TikTok's US rules, takes those orders off your late-dispatch count; your own warehouse keeps full control and the full clock. Price each route on its own rate card once you know which one your stock allows.
